First and foremost, I would like to tell you that I am still on my fitness journey. I would like to share with you where I started, where I am now, and where I want to be!
I was never a big child, I actually didn't become 'overweight' until I was in my final year of high school. So I was 180lbs, and I got pregnant with my 1st baby, Lily. Over the pregnancy, I went up to 230lbs.
I breastfed Lily, and steadily lost weight, and by the time she was 18 months, I was 190lbs. Now, around this time, her father and I split up. It was hard, and in the few months after that, I went up to 230lbs - just by unhealthy habits. I continued my unhealthy habits, continued gaining over time, and by the time Lily was 3, I was at my highest weight 260lbs.
I am going to be 100% honest with you. I was miserable! I was constantly tired, sore, my joints hurt, I was depressed, I didn't care about my well being at all. About three years ago, June 2014, a good friend of mine encouraged me to begin my fitness journey. She worked out with me, and encouraged me to join the gym with her. We went to the gym together, and over the course of a year, I lost 30 pounds, and gained muscle! I felt amazing.
June 2015 came, and after breaking up with my partner at the time, I found out I was pregnant. I was a single mom, stressed out, sick, unmotivated, and whenever I tried to go to the gym to workout, I felt like vomiting. Time went on, and I decided to just do my best, so I tried to walk a lot with Lily, and stay as active as possible. I also met my boyfriend, who is an amazing step-dad, when I was half way through my pregnancy. I gained 15lbs that pregnancy. I had Isabelle, and I lost the 15lbs within a week.
That summer - I was pretty lazy. I put my health and fitness on the back burner again, oops. I ate poorly, and way too much, and figured breastfeeding would save me. Nope. By the time Isabelle turned one, I was 248lbs. There was NO way. I was back to being depressed, I felt ugly, my self esteem was gone... I had to change this. That is when the magic happened.
I met my wonderful coach online, through a February Moms facebook group. We talked, and she suggested I try beachbody. I was very unsure, and honestly, I didn't join until the end of March. I am SO glad I did! Being part of a team of very EMPOWERING women, has changed my life. I bought the 21 Day Fix, and shakeology. I quit drinking pop, and within that 21 days, I lost 11lbs and 14inches. I was feeling happy, energetic, motivated, and my moods were even better. I did it again, the second round I lost 5lbs, and 8inches.
This brings me to today. June 2015, I have just completed Shaun Week, a week program made by Shaun T himself, and I have finally gotten back to my pre-pregnancy weight of 230!! I still have a long way to go, but with coaching, beachbody, and shakeology, I am on the path to success! I am a coach now, and I want to inspire others, and let you know there is hope, and you CAN do it!
